Gourmet Escapades
Jakob’s Basler Leckerly
Jakob’s Basler Leckerly is the oldest biscuit factory in Switzerland, with the first references to the company dating back to the 17th century.
Immerse yourself in this delicious world during a guided tour lasting around 1 hour! You will learn more about the history of the famous biscuit, peek behind the scenes of the production process and end up with a tasting of Läckerli recipes dating back three centuries.
Läckerli Huus
Although Läckerli are associated with the city of Basel, there are also a few companies that produce them in the Basel countryside, like the famous Läckerli Huus, for example, where they are made with passion and care in Frenkendorf.
There, Alex, the baker boy, will take you on a mouth-watering journey through the exhibition “The world of flavours”. The guided tour can be accompanied by a gourmet aperitif.
Basler FoodTour
Do you like to take the road less travelled? During the Basler FoodTour, four secret gastronomic addresses will be revealed to you over three hours. This is an opportunity to discover Basel from a new angle, away from the classic tourist attractions.
Cultural brunch tour
Combine your Sunday brunch with Basel culture! Basel Tourismus invites you to stroll through the historic streets of the old town, to wander along the canals and walk along the banks of the Rhine. Finish up with a brunch made with local products in the restaurant “Chez Jeannot”. A great way to end your week!

The best known is certainly the market which takes place from Monday to Saturday at Marktplatz. At the foot of the impressive town hall, there are numerous stands offering culinary specialties from the Basel region (and beyond!) as well as a flower market. A must for all lovers of good food!
