Region
Some truffles are superstars for sure… When you hear about the Périgord black truffle or the Piedmontese white truffle, we’re talking about diamonds so rare and expensive that they can only be found in the finest dining establishments. But the truffle is first and foremost a mushroom that loves soft, airy soils with lots of limestone, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they thrive in the Bonvillars region of northern Vaud, at the foot of the Jura mountains right at the shores of Lake Neuchâtel.
Learn all about truffles – from harvesting to tasting – through walks, courses, and by visiting many of the region’s restaurants. In addition to truffles, the Northern Vaud region offers other gourmet tidbits, not to mention the beautiful panoramas peppered with vineyards and mountain pastures, and charming villages that bore witness to great medieval battles.
